the blue angels
scream across clifton boulevard

and the real birds
take to the steel grey

cleveland skies
in pairs,
sets,
flocks,
and feigned
murmuration.

joyous in flight,
in shared experience,
in the bright sunshine,

that periodically
appears
on late summer days.
